Midnight's Wish

Sometimes I simply lay here gazing up at the darkness

Wishing this cold roof was a stellar canopy

The dew-covered grass brushing my legs

And that you could be here next to me

Holding my hand as we count the fireflies

Dancing around us in this crepuscular haven

I see the shadows on your face and drown in your eyes

Not a puff or a wisp in the deep purple heaven

I'd lay there with you until time is lost

Let the cerulean marble spin round and round

I finally put to rest agony's ghost

Between us only a moonlight sonata is found

A harmonious whisper of sweet serenity

Locking us as one into the mold of infinity

You sweep the flyaways from my face

As our lips flutter under la fuite de la lune

In every butterfly kiss I hear the tune

Of owls and unnamed night birds

I hold on to my eternal wish

Of feeling your embrace as I write these words

The presence of a sensual prowess

Yet I'm the only one inside these four walls

So still I lay gazing up at the darkness
