Midnight Wonder

All I hear now
Is the silence
That seeps in through the window.
All I see now
Is the gentle light
That sneaks in under the door.
Yet I feel so much in the darkness.
His arm wrapped around me,
The rise and fall of his chest,
Where my head lies.
His warm, relaxed body next to mine.
But those are just the physical things.
Much stronger are the things that cannot be touched.
Like the deepest of love we share,
The unison beat of our hearts,
The strength we seem to have only when we are together.
Apart, minutes feel like hours, hours feel like days, and days feel like weeks.
I get weak at the thought of having to spend any time without him.
Together, time passes us by in a whirlwind of love and passion.
It is during moments like these,
In the still darkness,
When I wonder the most,
If time can freeze.

Me
