For Mesud

Who is to blame?

You, me, the state, your bad luck or our poor choices?

Countless dreams scattered all over the rails of track number 9

A chilly night

When everyone else was sleeping

You decided to jump

And become part of eternity.

Total blackness

What was going through your mind

These last few fateful seconds

When the train was approaching?

You must have certainly seen the head lights

Piercing through the darkness

You must have certainly heard the speeding engine

Perturbing the quietness

Maybe you thought that “travelling” at night would be more peaceful.

None would be there to witness your exit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May your trip back to motherland be merry and unobstructed

Unlike your short earthly life.
