Mental

Self-censorship and feigned ignorance:

any extent to inhibit inquisition

into the legitimacy of sentience,

Embody universally intimate commitment to an intricate religion

Worship of the hope that only an "accident" is unintended

that the minds of men are more than power limited

that we are not defenseless but the impetus

to prove that history is not insensitive;

We're but bewildered children looking for a way to live

to verify that we can make our mark and leave our fingerprints

'til we take any mental break a hint of our significance

of something great

and not a broke machine.

We promise you, this is not a hopeless scene.

When at first you don't succeed, please pass the kids your dreams,

maybe one day they will find something for us to mean.
