In Memory Of Us

Hidden; hiding in the dawn of the day
Scared; locked away in the basement all night
Knowing that if you step out in the fray
Death will surely find you, but not from fright
In the end, you would just be a number
The yellow, yellow stars have betrayed us
Families lie in eternal slumber
With flagrant disregard, hate, and no fuss
Lives meaning nothing in his eyes at all
Worthless, meaningless; we all live to die
Crushed beneath his boots that make him feel tall
All that's left of us is that final cry
However, with our deaths we have been saved
Not living, but no longer so enslaved

Children dying, mothers screaming; lost hope
God save us from this horrible suffering
Men stay strong, do not falter, you must cope
Allies, within you all our hopes take wing
You will relieve our children of our pain
All that is left of us is in the air
Yet we have left on history a great stain
Though unintentional - you are aware
For after all, we can only be stories
Our voices will come together as one
You will hear our sorrows and glories
The war is over, but our voices aren't done
He is dead, but he died the coward's way
While all our secrets are left to decay
