Memory Souls

When living souls remind us,

Of the way it used to be,

And memories recall us,

To see what we could not see.

Back in times of carelessness,

When smiles do us part,

Now consumed by loneliness,

When nightmares haunt the dark.

Memories lying on the floor,

For all the world to see,

Laughing,mocking,taunting me.

I try to remember,

Yet I try to let go,

Of all the things i have come to know.

Within these living dreams,

The nightmares prosper and grow.

Haunting in the dark

Laughing, mocking, taunting me.

Living souls are here,

Reminding me,

Of the way it used to be.
