The Memory

And I remember when unity and love wasn't so far away from our heart

When money was not more loved than our sisters and brothers

oh! I remember...

The sight of hope, life, joy , gracefulness ,  and kindness

but seem to diminish and shrink

as we are stuffed  up with our own ego and desire for the accumulation of wealth

Sometimes  I ask ,is it worth it?

Is the numerical value worth more  that it cannot be used for a greater purpose?

Is it worth more that the sick are left suffering unattended ?

Is it worth more that the hungry people are left with an aching stomach where no food nor water have visit for many days?

Indeed

I remember the tingling feeling of the act of giving,

"giving without expecting anything in return " they say

but I tell you, you do receive much more than expected

A vibrant smile,

a warm hug,

a peaceful heart,

Ease of pain,

and the fulfillment of helping

Oh  I remember the loving heart of our people!
