In Memoriam: El Paso

23 people went on to the light

In the news report, we bask

22 injured no chance to fight

One man, no shame, no mask

Left with only memories of the past

The tattered banner waves at half-mast

Over the land of the free

The home of the brave

A city in pieces

We trudge on in a haze
