Medusa

Her eyes were soft
She was beautiful up close
By nature and for no one else
But men desire what they don’t have

Her eyes were panicked
She told him no
Cried for help
But no one came

Her eyes were shattered
She felt broken
Thought she was wrecked
But she was given a gift of inspiration

Her eyes were hard
She walked the streets safely
Her beauty is a weakness
But now she knows how to be strong

The girl is ugly to outsiders
Baggy clothing, covered face, short hair
But once she looks at someone

No one can ever forget her eyes

Her eyes are calm
She is free
