The hardship I encounter everyday?
Too consumed with a ‘life dependent’ task
The difference of predator and prey

Comfort and ample sleep, what sins they are
Replaced by crippling stress and disquiet
Pushed by others’ standards, pushing too far
For in my mind I can’t control the riot

Grades and activities are ‘asked’ for
But this is interpreted as demands
When is there time to enjoy life in war,
A war pleasing school and all its commands?

Meaningful worth I desperately seek
Seeking, searching, to get me through this week.
