Me Oh My Love

Me oh my, my love,

every love of mine.

Welcome rain or shine.

It’s you that’s on my mind.

You’re always wanted here.

“This is a safe space.” I tell her.

Oh, and here she comes!

She’s daring and she’s fearless.

Light on her feet, swinging and stepping

Twirling and glowing and gifting

All of her everything

Urgently edging into my veins

And I pray she stays, always.

Cascading in compact coverings,

cover me!

Suffocate me with this sweet stillness.

Motionless in the moonshine.

Stay here, please.

I am on my knees.

She’s playfully pirouetting down.

Is this her leaving me now?

Irresistible

Green and glowing

But slowly going

I’ll miss you when you’re gone.

Cascading in heavy layers,

It’s not the game, it’s the players.

A month and five days.

Shy progress, I guess.

Does time heal

or does time give you more time

to think and hurt and drive yourself mad.

Mad, I’ve gone. I’m gone. Gone mad.

Once madly in love.

I’m mad at love.

I loved being in love with you, love.

But now there’s nothing I can do.

I’m nobody’s fool.

But a fool for love, that’s true.
