Me, Instead

Sat, 08/12/2017 - 15:51 -- LeaJay

When Father wished them dead,

it was an accident, and he was left with

Me, instead.

Bitter, lonely, servants of Death,

my seven brothers killed warriors and heroes, so my village sent

Me, instead.

I sought the help of Ladies Sun and Moon,

who decided to burn and drown

Me, instead.

At their castle of glass, I tried to reason

with the seven ravens, but they attacked

Me, instead.

Throughout the battle, I blamed Death

and begged Him to, please, take

Me, instead.

Then I fell, my brothers were freed,

and they wept and mourned for

Me, instead.

When Father welcomed his seven sons home,

it was a miracle, and in the end, he lost

Me, instead.
