"Me" Boast

Obviously, my name is Casey Heinlein.

I’m just going to warn you, I may cross a fine line

Between what’s alright to say and also what is wrong

But that’s okay--I’m just singing my song.

I’ve been a lot of places, seen a lot of things.

From the north of Virginia to Borrego Springs.

I lived in Sandy SoCal for quite a little while,

But headed out east for a new lifestyle.

Most people don’t see how busy I can be

With work, with school, and all that’s in between.

I have, what’s called, a part-time position, plating pickles

For customers at Dickey’s who pay with nickels.

Not only do I spend most of my time working there,

But I also work with kids who constantly pull my hair

In the nursery at my church, which brings me to the next

Activity on the list that’s extremely complex.

I’m very active in my youth group, BFG,

Which includes my church, Burnt Factory UMC.

Through them, and other clubs here at Millbrook High School,

I volunteer a lot, which I think is pretty cool.

Most people could never do all that I do,

And still have time leftover to eat and sleep, too.

There is so much more I have on my plate,

But if I told you everything, we’d be here pretty late.

When I’m not at work, school, or church, I’m somewhere else.

Some don’t believe I’m taking care of myself.

But what they don’t understand is I like the way things are.

Honestly, I wish I could do more. (Too bizarre?)

I don’t mind being busy, as busy as a bee,

I actually enjoy it. It makes me “me.”
