Maybe?

Maybe this time it won't hurt
Maybe they'll forget
What if I get closer
There is no need to fret...
Right?
Maybe, somehow, they will love me
Maybe they will try
To see things in a different way
To open their minds' eye
Wrong.
Maybe if I commit the sin
They'll realize what is gone
They'll pay the price I had to pay
They'll understand I'm done

Maybe, if they so desired
They could understand
Maybe I'd not stand for it;
Cut through it all- I can-
No
I try to make mine stronger
To leap and soar above
To achieve life's wonders and live
The life I truly love
But
The challenge can be dreadful
When there is no one to call
No one who will remind you how
It feels to fly, not fall

You're sliding down hell's staircase
You're falling into death
The light at ends of tunnels
Draws your very last breath

Though no one seems to hear you,
The piercing screams that ring
Are ignored, dismissed, and set aside
World's weight they only bring
Your voice, though its echo
Rebounding, floor to roof,
Silently lulls beneath surfaces
Waiting for itself's own proof.

Forgotten
Forgetfulness is easy
People do it, not to try
You say you have not forgotten?
Don't attempt your lie.
Lost
Is what comes closer
Reaching for what can't be found
Scratching up through the cavernous graves
Trying to escape from the ground

For the ground is cold and is lonely
The pierced-icy touch is too grim
For one such as I to simply understand
I realize I never will win.
Gone.
