Masterpiece in the Making
Anywhere I look, everywhere I go
I just see people trying to go with the culture flow
And not the good flow, I’m talking about the opposite
And when I’m done, you might not agree with it
The world has taken a hold of today’s youth
The Christian title they judge and say things that aren’t the truth
And there are thoughts about them that we shouldn’t really think
And still, there are guys like me, staring into screens at stuff that we shouldn’t even see and we don’t even blink.
Ladies, sorry, but your just the same
You look to MTV and magazines to learn to fit into fame
And all the makeup that you put on so that you look pretty
So that you are prepared to meet your “True Love” like they do in the notebook or the movies by Walt Disney
But there is one thing I notice more, and I don’t know why
Probably because I spend too much time connected to the Wi-Fi
Everyone I know, even the ones I hang out with, talk about tattoos and piercings
And I’m sorry, but I think I’m getting sick of just listening
Why do you want to try to improve the beauty that God gave you?
He made everybody uniquely; take a look in the mirror to get a better view
I know that you say because it’s your body is yours, you have the choice
But don’t get confused, the body isn’t yours, and you have to follow that other voice
Well, there are actually two, Just wait for me to mention
So I expect you to pay close attention
The first is your parents, because as long as you live under them, they deserve respectfulness
And if you consider yourself a Christian, then there is one thing that should be obvious
You see, our bodies are just temporary as we live here on earth
And God expects you to take care of his temple before you lay in that hearse
So before you do anything, consult with God, and don’t be immodest
Before you edit someone’s artwork, you should first ask the artist
Because really you are the canvas that God is painting on
He did better than any artist has drawn
God adds specific detail so that we stand out
So quit calling yourself ugly as if you came from tile grout
He needs us to represent Him in everything that we do
When we said, “I accept you” we joined his crew
The group of people who show them what this life is supposed to be about
And we can’t just do the things to fit in, we have to stand out
Not by the things we have or the cloths we wear
But the actions that we make that cause people to stare
‘Cause you see, actions speak louder than words
And sometimes the pen is mightier than the sword
Both Words and actions can help change a person’s life
It could also save the separation between the husband and his wife
Appearance on the outside doesn’t always describe a person’s heart
And most people don’t read the pages; they only pay attention to the cover art
But if you do something amazing to them that catches their attention
Something that causes them to take a look at the pages section by section
I mean, don’t get me wrong, trying to look good by dress is okay
Yeah, it is awesome to look boss driving that mustang by Chevrolet
But it shouldn’t be our number one priority
Number one is to answer to authority
But in the case of marking your body, there are a couple things I advise
First, I think consulting with your parents first would be really wise
Because they spent most of their lives trying to raise you and keep you safe
The last thing that they want is you to make decisions that are unsafe
Plus with all the time they spent raising you, they deserve a little respect
If you are going to make a major decision like that, they should be included so you all could reflect
And yes, I know there are older adults judging you trying to recite Leviticus 19:28
Telling you that tats are a thing of the devil, and they start to hate
But you can tell them that is past, because when Jesus came, he created a new covenant
The reason why he died is so we could be free from the bondage of the original covenant
Because if you’re like me and pay attention in theology,
Understanding this is easier than trying to formulize in Biology
See, God made a covenant with man at the very beginning
But there was conflict in it; we kept sinning
Scared for his children, he couldn’t see us suffer
He looked down at us as we lied and cheated to one another
So He had a choice to make
And this decision had the life of mankind at stake
So how does someone so great and powerful solve this problem?
Well, if he just said he takes back a promise, wouldn’t he be hypocritical then
What? God has always been that way? Since when?
Sure, you probably accepted this Christian lifestyle and your life ended up miserable
In fact, my argument might not sound very plausible
But are you sure in fact that this pain is from God, not the enemy?
Because I have dealt a lot with a lot of troubles on this path, and I even thought about the end of me
But these troubles are not from God, they are from that stalker on this path
He follows you and makes it miserable, but it doesn’t match up to God’s wrath
So I want to tell you that it would make sense that God wouldn’t put us through what we couldn’t handle
If things seem too hard, you might call Him the scandal
In reality, though, you probably tried to do everything by yourself
But you can’t do everything yourself, because it could be bad for your health
Yeah, times can get hard, and for energy, you might need some caffeine
But obstacles prepare us for the future, like for a disease you take a vaccine
I don’t really have much else to say, but I want to finish with this
I don’t want to argue with anyone with any of any topic, and please don’t diss
I just believe God has lain this on my heart, I won’t tell you how it came
I just want to write because I want to live for his great name
