The Masquerader

I am the master Masquerader

In daylight, I am calm and subtle
At night I am wild and devious, like the raging sea
Bullets and bruises in my heart
Wrecked too many times before
I will never fall again
My disguise is my protection
I build up walls to seal my heart from intruders
My smile is my shield from my attackers
My laugh, can lighten up the darkest sky
My voice can crumble walls and rumble the fiery pits of hell
My walk can shake the deepest ocean, and conquer the invincible
My eyes shut the windows to my soul
My ears listen to the sound of joy and happiness around me
I am my own worst enemy
But when I take my mask off
I am thrown aside the wayside, with forgotten identity
Yes, I am the master masquerader in this fantasy
My masquerade is my protection from me.
