Mason's garden

Mason’s garden

Impeccable
in placement
and in shaping,
row on row
of topiary
in greys and reds.

Slim, polished,
felspar flecked
those granite leaves:
crystals tight-locked,
long in durance
they patient stand —

Unwritten leaves
for lives waiting
final transplant.
