Mask of Cinderella

Once upon a time,

Is where you’d like to start

But this is no fairytale

More of a gleam into the dark.

The Glass slippers everyone talks about

Are nothing but a mess

Skin slicing nightmares

Honestly just a crude pest.

The breathtaking ballgown

Sweeps up the Ball night

Where no one can recognize

But only till strike

Till her dress will fade from

then be left in plain sight.

The elbow high opera gloves

Are on pretty tight

Cutting off circulation yet

Not the reason for her stripes

Still but the gloves stay white.

A smile can be deceitful

But so can the dress

The Glass slippers and the gloves are there

But need to be put to the test

For how the worst can be hidden

Even behind the Princess.
