Martyr Sonnet

The wind refreshes my feeble body,

My wrist and ankles restrain my movement,

For my spirit I have no custody,

To my dreadful state no acknowledgment,

My fellow warrior perseverance

Is loosing the battle with fiendish pain,

To my future I give no acceptance,

Martyr for my cause treason I abstain,

Now time is the greatest adversary,

On a crucifix I will leave this Earth,

Through death I will live on legendary,

I’m certain of a subsequent rebirth,

One who fulfills their goals without restraint,

Will be remembered and honored, a saint.
