Marching Band Life

Sun, 05/05/2013 - 21:41 -- ksu2012

The beat of the metronome
Performances at the Dome
Moving across the field
Having trophies yield
Memorizing the sets
Winning the bets
Placing first in class
Hustling across the grass
Practices on Back 40 lot
Freshman tasks insanely a lot
Blazing heat, still practicing
Now being told we have to sing
Walk with purpose in uniform
No air conditioning at the dorm
Rapid wind, guard drop
March across a spinning prop
Night bus rides a little crazy
Summer days mind is hazy
Find step size using trig
Moving pipes really big
Scores reported and recorded
Uniforms a tad bit sordid
Playing instrument in tune
Catcalling out to the moon
Inches matter, says him
One more time on a whim
Fall in love and into drama
Just don't drop Big Mama
Naming instruments now what next
Watch the director try to text
Halftime shows the main event
Don't know how much money spent
Been there done that got the shirt
Didn't know my ankles hurt
Parade day comes
Hear the beat of drums
Learn to march in step
Fill football games with pep
Become friends, all this AND
Welcome to the marching band!
