Man's Second Best Friend

We all know who is man's best friend
But who are our second best friend
Books books and more books for sure
Because they never change with time like people do
Each word and the sentence remains the same
Every time you read the lines seems first time
Because it's beyond the realms of time, space and place
Next time when you lay your hands on a cover
Read it, feel it, smell it, think it devour it and digest it
Enough of this being the carrier of a book like a trophy
Be the reader, consumer, thinker and narrator
They would seldom let you down unlike your best friend
They are your second best friend for nothing
