This Man Who's Behind the Curtain

Pay no attention to this man who's behind the curtain;
Make no incision through his skin, you'll find he's hurtin'.
Outwardly, he puts up a bold front, a developed facade.
Inwardly, it's the opposite: underdeveloped, unshod.

He embodies the ideality expected of the best,
but he lacks the sociality that would liken him to the rest.
So he pretends when called upon to interact on short terms.
No way he wins over the long term, new bitter facts form more wounds.

Complicatedly complex, too developed to develop further,
So he aims to be convex, truely shielded through an enveloped nature.
War's on in the warzone; a silent, cold war in stalemate.
As far gone as he is foregone, the war is within and indefinite.
