That Man

Dark and stormy one night,
The children waited in delight.
Father returned before light
With a child full with fright.

He grew up a handsome man,
Dark, mysterious like his skin, tan.
Too bad he fell in love, a ban.
It lasted such a large span.

Never earned the love he sought,
Instead earned love that was bought.
In the end, he lost a lot,
Only loved and lived to rot.
