Make a vow and keep it

Ecclesiastes 5:4

When you make a vow to God, do not delay in paying it.
For God takes no pleasure in fools: Pay what you vow!

Potentially – eventually – drink Life giving water

The cup is running over in this dessert land.

Perpetually in quality ... for those who bother

to die to themselves with His helping hand.

Make a vow and keep it ... then dream in the Son-shine.

Don’t ever make one ... that you handle as a toy.

Let your yes be yes ... in everlasting rhyme

so the Master of it all ... in you will rejoice.

I just can’t make a vow ... or even a simple promise.

I can’t keep much of anything in my confused estate.

So one breath at a time ... each step taken in solace

I stumble slowly forward ... in this world of self-abuse.

Today even seems uncertain ... what will the next hour bring?

It is much easier to live by faith and let the Lord direct it.

Unless He opens the curtain ... I can’t even see a thing

that surely is a fact to me ... as He wills to provide this.
