Mailwoman

And I see her everywhere

Vanishing in the thin blue air

A sealed letter in her hand

Postmarked from a foreign land

Her uniform and face are blue

The letter is of course from you

And I’ll be able to read, I hope,Β

My own address on that envelope

But she has trouble with the letter

Which is always getting heavier

And over and over with a stare

She vanishes again in the thin blue air
