Luna's Light

Location

Earth’s shadow shrugged on a clear summer’s night

Full moon rises to show radiant light

Not knowing for certain where it shines from

Roosters crow in vain for dawns yet to come

Somnambulists roam convinced it is day

Children still sleeping yet eager to play

The light is a ruse a clever deceit

Borrowed some sunshine but lost all its heat

The aim is to mirror sol’s warming rays

But the night never sheds Luna’s blue haze

A vibrant pearl floating high in the sky

Beauty to cherish even if it’s a lie

Allurement enhanced by its pock mark scars

Voyaging through all the twinkling stars

Horizon to horizon traversing space

The moon shares its glow by changing its place

Rose bloom approaches a new day begins

Moon’s light melted by its hot burning twin’s
