In Loving Memory of Nadia Valenzuela

Location

I remember only speaking to you once.
Now, I wish that I would've gotten to know you.

You were always so quiet.
When you played out,
We fell silent.
Emotions filled us,
Always from your sound.
Hearing you speak,
Was all we asked for.

The way you strum,
Everyone would listen.
You sang to us, once.
When you finished,
Anyone that listened
Was speechless.

You never commented.
When asked to play,
You would do so.
Most of us grew curiosity,
About you, mainly.
We didn't know you,
Only through your instrument.

I look back, wondering, what would life be like
If you were here.
My heart and mind will always remember you
As a great trumpet player.
