Lovely Injustice

You think you love someone

Then after its done

Hits the reality wrecking realization that it never was real

But you brush it off as a side effect of your ordeal

So often we've run opposite the truth

The proof

Is in how we lie to those we claim to care for

For example, if they are a currently renovating store

You are already shopping on the aisles

Your love is concentrated on your idea of them all the while

Both are wasting valuable time loving a thought

Only after do we see the havoc our actions have wrought

Oh the injustice of it all

We enjoy standing tall

On the foundation of love or so we think

The reason so many relationships are on the brink

Is because there isn't enough love for each other

Instead of thinking about your future baby girl and her brother

Think about now because that's when forever starts

Fall in love with the person not the brain fart

You had about what they could be

Look at what they are, how free

It will feel to truly say I love someone

Forever will never be all fun

But it will be worth the price

To be able to truly love that special person in your life

It took me a long time and a lot of headaches to see

That the only problem with my love life was me

And my love for the ideas of who people could be

Then getting upset when my utopian idea was met with reality

It was there all along

Love overlooks things but it shouldn't be so strong

That sight of who they really are is lost

Thats a high cost

One no one should have to pay

But we do everyday

That we love ideas
