Love Mends

Sun, 02/12/2017 - 21:53 -- Purl

America, land of the free

At least that's how it should be.

Soldiers fight to keep us safe,

Yet we refuse to embrace

the sacrifices made, we avoid to face.

Protests keep our land divided

Many think this is their right

But all the hate and violence

Simply exacerbates a continued fight.

When will people see that this is not the way?

How will all the hatred end?

For one day, hopefully, all Americans and patriots will see

That only love and random acts of kindness will be the mend.
