Love Me Not

I spend all of this time craving a touch, a kiss, a love.

Knowing that if I found arms wrapped around me I would untangle myself.

If I found hope in your lips

I would suck the life out of your kiss

And leave your love motionless on the floor.

I’d press and press and press

Until your heart was black and blue,

Trying to pump blood and feeling into my veins

Just trying to save mine

Just trying to keep my eyes alive

I just don’t know how to love.
