Love’s Definition

What is love, we ask?

Some perceive it to be a valuable thing.

Some believe it’s a mask.

But all we know is what it’ll bring.

Sometimes it could last forever,

other times it could only break our hearts.

Making it last is such an endeavor.

But is it really worth the start?

The answer is yes, even if you don’t think.

Your heart jumps out of its chest,

With every second your eyes blink.

This feeling becoming the best.

Your walls start to crumble with every touch,

Your eyes sparkling with new hope.

Giving them all of your trust,

But not knowing how to cope.

Just know that the risk is worth it

Because the feelings you feel are real.

Even if you don’t want to admit,

They will help your heart heal.

This is the answer told about love,

And what most are proud of.
