Time and time again I have failed.

All too often have I missed the mark.

With so many sighs I have wailed.

So many times have I let sin keep me in the dark.

With tiredness and fright

I struggle to crawl back to your pierced feet

Out of darkness and back to your light

Too ashamed to even say “Please forgive me”.

I put the holes there.

I hammered the nails through your flesh.

Yet every time I come back here

You grab my hand saying “I will give you rest”
