Looking in the Mirror

Life is a lot like a boxing match

You get hit

You get knocked down

Bam

A punch, one after the other

And when you finally open your eyes you recognize your opponent

You're staring at yourself

Bam

Another punch, it knocks the wind out of you

You realize that you have a battle within yourself

Right vs wrong

Bam

The onslaught doesn't stop

But there's a moment of clarity

You're demons have been winning

BAM

You get up, but this time your right is in cotnrol

You fight for your life, you take back your life

You fight back for the wrongs you've done, for the people you've hurt

Ding

The bell rings, it's over

The real you has won

You vow not to make the same mistakes again

Sigh

It was a long fight

Not a perfect fight, but you've won even when covered in dirt and blood

In the end did one thing many haven't--you grew up
