Into the Looking Glass

Dear those to whom it may concern,

Thank you for all the times you stood across from me

trading not hollow words, but hopes and fears and worries.

Thank you for looking at me not like a flat, illusory spectacle,

but a real being with dimensions and edges.

When I gaze into the looking glass,

I can't see much beyond the chasm and fractures

So thank you for being a mirror to look into

where I can see something to be proud of.

Sincerely,

Your Friend,

The Handmirror
