Longing

I know how strange you’ve been feeling these days

My Golden Girl’s gone cold

But all of that could change

Yet still you remain with me

There’s nothing I can say that would make you stay

Nothing I can do to get through to you

In my eye you’re more than fine

Like that garter that fit so well around your thigh

That one summer night

When you were mine

I know how strange you’ve been feeling these days

Wrung out and used, not a shred of youth remains

Yet still you’re stuck in your ways

I know how lonely you must be

No one to hold yet you long to be free

Yet here I kneel, for my love waits as long as it needs

Desertion wouldn’t keep me from bending my knee

I know how lonely you must be feeling these days

Dropped in the melting pot a hundred miles away

Just know that when you return

I’ll make it all worth your time

Your strain

Each day

I know how strange you’ve been feeling these days

As days go by, I feel the fuse

Grow shorter every day

That spark that once lit my heart

Races closer towards our resolution

A single word, a simple solution

The games we’ve played, the love you’ve made to me compares to none

and although we sit upon our zenith

I’m still with you
