The lonely lady

(poems go here) The lonely lady

She had no life to share with a lover she had longed for.
Everything she had was gone
even a house to live in, she was pronounced poor
standing on a corner 5’3
waiting for a man who was at least 93
her long curly blond hair had grayed
still hoping the life of a lover would soon come her way

For every day she stood on the corner
waiting for her night and shining armor
when that same day a man passed by
Once they met she was a fool
he just tried to look cool
What she didn’t know is that he was in the same situation as her
Yet he found a way to cover up his flaws with blurs
He asked for her name
She said, “Why do you care!”
He said, “You’re the most beautiful woman in the world.”
She blushed, he had won her stare
There was love in the air, as they glared at one another
but she didn’t know they were actually sister and brother

She never found out, he never told her that he knew
Their love was as strong as glue
Until five years later she realized they had correlation in their name
That is when she knew love would never be the same
Alone she thought, “Is this how it’s supposed to be?”
Years later she had passed away from a love of deceit
