A Lonely Hunter

Alone.

            A hole.

                        A sadness.

A blue comfort.

My heart is a lonely hunter

Who spends its life

Half-heartedly

Living half a life

Half-alive.

“I want… I want…”

It tells me.

But what it wants

It doesn’t know.

But oh, how it wants.

Maybe another heart

To wrap around

So I can find

My way around

This strange place.

The heart is a hunter

With such mad desires!

Found in neon lights

And false hopes and people

When there is no love in sight.

I want to love and be loved.

But maybe I can’t.

What if that’s not for me?

And that fills my heart with weight.

And fear.

But there’s still time.

And my time here is brief.

So fuck it. I’ll enjoy it.

And hope that I’ll find what I’m looking for.

My heart is a lonely hunter.

I guess that’s a beautiful thing.
