Loneliness

Location

London
United Kingdom

(Poem written as a teenager, then revised)

Loneliness is like a hungry beast.

It feeds on your sadness.

It drags you into the darkness.

And once it’s latched on, never lets go.

Loneliness is like the devil.

He whispers in your ear:

and forces you to hear,

All the hateful things it has to say.

Loneliness is now an old friend

It keeps in touch from time to time,

But then it goes away.
