Loneliness

What is loneliness?
One might ask

Is it a black hole?
Destroying
Annihilating
Everything around it
Leaving nothing behind

Or is it more like a monster?
Eating you piece by piece
From the inside out
Until a hallow shell is left

Maybe its a parasite?
Once its in
It can’t come out
Without consuming you first

Possibly a poison
To the soul
Killing you slowly
Brutally, quietly.

It’s a cloud of despair
Dark, heavy, bitter
Constantly around you
Never leaving you alone

It is an unwanted guest,
In your world.
Yet it stays and lingers,
It is your only company.
