The Lockout: 2013 Edition

It’s not the first time this has happened during my life-time,
At least we had won the Stanley Cup in ’04 before the last lockout,
But this time,
This time was different.

Thinking of college and what I want to study,
Stressing that there might be no NHL at all,
Having the same dream job since I was little,
To work for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This Stupid Lockout could change everything,
Who knows what would happen to the NHL,
But after a many hours of hard praying to Lord Stanley,
The hockey gods answered all diehard hockey fans’ prayers,
The lockout was finally over!

It was a late but greatly wanted birthday and Christmas present.
Waiting for the owners and players to agree on a contract
Was like watching an entire rink melt.
College was just in my sight
And I’m ready to get my shot at my dream job.
