The Little Things in Life

There are so many great things to live for,

When the leaves turn into the shades of fall,

When sounds of the ocean sweeps on the shore,

When one waits for an exciting phone call.

When the first snow of the season arrives,

When the warmth of a fire hits one’s body,

When one’s loved ones give them sweet surprises,

When it’s morning and the sky is foggy.

When the trees begin to bloom in the spring,

When the sunshine brings warmth onto one’s skin,

When a kitten swats at a dangly string,

When something funny makes one widely grin.

Yet, the great things in life aren’t permanent,

It’s very vital to be fortunate.
