Little Red

Location

Weeping and wilted

She threw herself down

The forest beneath her

Hosting sinister shadows

The lesson here

Was to never stray

To never look

Towards the dark and say

“I want to explore”

This little lost girl

Who draws you near

Has committed a grievous sin

She ran away

From a well-lit path

And let the wolf

Slither in

But if we stayed

In our well-lit corners

Would the darkness

Come creeping out?

Make itself known

In every crevice

In every crack

Until even stark white

Fades to inky black
