Little left

John 8:35-36 New English Translation (NET Bible)

35 The slave does not remain in the family forever, but the son remains forever. 36 So if the son sets you free, you will be really free

Here we are well-known ... all seem to know my flaws

I register my name in black so all are informed of me

Wherever I move or live ... and I will scratch with my paws

I will take all the flack from the strong and the weak

Once I was kind of normal ... now totally out of date

My shortcomings tattooed on the surface of whom I have to be

Nothing much now formal on my filled and busted plate

Prepared for the human furnace to be discarded as you see

I still have tears and feelings ... my family still cares

How can I let go today of the one I used to be?

There’s no use for appealing ... how would I even dare?

There is little left to say and still, Christ set me free
