A line in concrete

1 John 5:6

Jesus Christ is the One Who came by water and blood—

by the water only, but by the water and the blood.

And the Spirit is the One Who testifies, because the Spirit is The Truth.

To draw a line on a concrete hand takes a hammer and a chisel

Or maybe it can be done with a finger dipped in blood

Won’t this wash away by the first rain in the springtime?

As life bringing showers are to drench the soul for good

Water brings life and sustains most all breath in creation

Still it has become the downfall of the reckless and unprepared

All around we notice ... particularly in the spring and fall season

The power of the storms in life ... as destiny doesn’t seem to care

Life just goes on far beyond our comprehension

The ability there to stop the “not to be” begotten

Everlasting never had time ... uncertainty not to mention

So long as we live forever ... with exception for the rotten

Since we’re all infected from the day of our birth

Our rottenness can only be healed by the Balm of Gilead

His touch and loveliness always appears first

As He draws us into Himself ... we the helpless and the sad
