A Light Upon the Water

The morning's dawn is rising

Upon the gray-blue sea

That seems to be a shadow

To the eyes of you and me

But slowly the sun overcomes the horizon

And the brightness starts to grow

As the light upon the water

Sets the gray-blue sea a glow

The place where the sun's rays touch the water

Shimmer and shine a brilliant white

And the darkness diminshes around it

As your eyes are drawn to the light

In life we will all have trials

Our dark nights before the dawn

When all that we see are gray-blue shades

And everything we once knew is gone

But much like the sun in the morning

Our Savior's love begins to rise

And it becomes a light upon our waters

If we will only lift our eyes

So if you're swimming in darkness

And feel you have no place to run

Trust that the dawn is coming

And have hope in the rising Son
