light skin, dark skin

I'm against my people, but my people are against me

They look me into my eyes, but skin pigment is all they see

Light skin, dark skin as if we aren't allnblack

We are suppose to be unified, but unity is what we lack

We still have ideas that the white man is superior

We try to match them, because we feel our skin is inferior

But what I don't understand is why we choose to be blind

Caramel, cocoa, or chocolate our color is devine
