Lifeboat
Day by fading day
She slowly swallows me whole
An inescapable space of wasted moments
An epidemic of goodbyes
People pass by me seemingly stripped
Scarred by former seconds
Somewhere, everywhere, I look for you
I ponder endlessly where time flutters
Memorializing my youth
But a glimpse is all I can bare
Reminiscing of memories I clench to
Eternally enduring
She kisses me,
Convinces me of future embraces
And I stay afloat
For now
This poem is about:
Me
My family
Our world
