A Letter to You

Dear Teacher,

I can be the filling of an empty seat;

I can make the count either odd or even;

I can ride along as you begin the mind’s expedition;

The knowledge you expel, I can digest;

At the end of the day, I can be all that you request.

Dear Mother, dear Father,

I can be the receiver of your love;

I can stand still as the measured marks on the wall are made;

I can play nice with my brothers;

I can be stronger than my brothers,

I can mess up your lessons, the first time;

I can continually give my best;

At the end of the day, I can be all that you request.

Dear Friend,

I can be the shoulder that you need;

I can fill the silence that you see;

I can cause the silence you hear;

I can be your leather bound journal;

I can relieve your varying levels of stress;

At the end of the day, I can be all that you request.

Dear God,

Will you let me accept wisdom and knowledge again?

Will you teach me to love again?

Will you allow me to grow againon?

Will you give me strength again?

Will you open my ears again?

Will you allow me to protect again?

Say ‘yes’, again, I pray.

Let me be the me You see.

Let me conquer the test,

So I can be, once again, all that they request.

-Hope to hear from you all soon.

(It’s me by the way, Chanise)
