Let's Watch the Horizon Together

Let's watch the horizon together,

From this crumbling rooftop, we built ourselves on.

Let our legs dangle over the breathing city disasters,

let them swing back and forth,

like a metronome-keeping rhythm.

Let's hold each other,

From this crumbling rooftop, we built ourselves on.

Our hands tied together in a pretty fashion.

Is this a lock that promises security?

Are we a soft background color or a bold outline?

Is this a false reality?

Let's watch the stars,

From this crumbling rooftop, we built ourselves on.

"Let's pick a constellation," you said,

"And create a story of starlight."

Grasping to remain the same,

If only we could burn our words into the galaxies,

Draw lines between the distant specks,

create a code only we can translate.

Let's take a photograph,

From this crumbling rooftop, we built ourselves on.

Light cannot escape,

if we capture this single moment in time.

Hold it in our hands and feel everything over again.

Under these silent stars,

our words continue to spill out.

As we find the point of no return,

Let's watch the horizon together,

From this crumbling rooftop, we built ourselves on.
