A Dream floated like driftwood down a river of red

Now I cannot recall, was that one of mine?

Shall I pick it up or is it dead?

How did I let my dream die?

It grew first from water, then from blood

But was tainted by my insecurities

And so hard it was to let it go

That it took with it a peace of me.

If I had known before to release it,

It may have lived on in someone else’s soul,

But I struggled, it bruised—it was an accident,

Now it is lifeless, broken, and cold.
